Nidra: *grimaces* I don't think I want to sleep here anymore

Amber: I'm just messing. This is a holy bed. Only cuddles here. The couch on the other hoof...

Nidra: I.... sat.... there....

Amber: Got ya again! Gee princess you gotta learn when somepony's making jokes *snickers* Anyhow, make yourself comfy!

Nidra: *hops in the bed* Hmmm... not as "comfy" as mine, but it'll do.

Amber: Oh yeah? Well, if I'm lucky I'll get to see for myself one day *hops in the bed with Nidra and snuggles close*

Nidra: O-oh hi. 

Amber: Hey, you should change into Jet Stream.

Nidra: Why? We're not out in public.

Amber: My boys tend to come in and check on me sometimes. Not sure how they'd react seeing a princess here. Also I have a weak spot for pegasusususus. So fluffy~

Nidra: *rolls eyes and turns into Jet Stream* Happy?

Amber: Very *puts face in Nidra's fluff*

Nidra: Um.... well, goodnight

Amber: What, no kiss?

Nidra: Ahhh.....

Amber: You need to stop taking everything I say so seriously

Nidra: Oh, well I don't want to–

Amber: *snores*

Nidra: Heh, alright then.

Amber: *squirming in her sleep*

Nidra: Amber............... Amber wake up.

Amber: Nnnnnnasmffff

Nidra: You're crushing my hoof........

Amber: *starts breathing heavily*

Nidra: Hm, she seems tense. Easy stuff *horn glows*

Amber: Please no..... come back.........

Nidra: Or it could be a nightmare.......... what's going on in there? *horn glows brighter*

Amber: Good morning sunshine. You're up early. I know you said you liked the daytime but I didn't take you for a morning pony.

Nidra: Yeah

Amber: Hey did you use some magic stuff or something to help me sleep? I feel so rested! And I had an awesome dream as well. I forgot that was a thing you could do.

Nidra: Mmhm

Amber: Are yoooou... okay? Were you crying? Somepony looks like they could use some kisses~ *gives Nidra a peck on the cheek*

Nidra: I'm fine... Are you okay?

Amber: Of course. Do I not look okay?

Nidra: Well... you see....... with my magic I'm able to help ponies to go to sleep with a sleeping spell. However, if they're having nightmares...... I kinda have to empathize a bit....get in their head. 

Amber: Oooooh

Nidra: Yeah. 

Amber: So..... what did you see?

Nidra: Your mother. 

Amber: ...............

Nidra: Do you have that nightmare a lot?

Amber: Not as much as I did as a child but it comes back every once in a while.

Nidra: I'm very sorry, Amber. And I also apologize for invading your privacy. I usually just go into nightmares, replace them with a dream and leave. My mother is able to interact with nightmares, find the issue and put an end to them. I figured I might be able to do the same since I'm still figuring out my powers. But I couldn't. I wanted to help. I didn't like seeing you so sad.

Amber: Aw Nidra you're very sweet. I really appreciate you trying but I'm fine. That happened 15 years ago.

Nidra: Right. But I'm still disappointed that I'm not strong enough to help you. And my other subjects for that matter.

Amber: Hey, you helped. I feel rested *smiles*

Nidra: That's not enough. I'll never be a good princess at this rate. Why even try?

Amber: Nidra, you're holding yourself to an unrealistic standard. Your mom's like what, a couple thousand years old? I'm sure she's had a lot of time to understand her powers. You're still very young and have a loooot of time to figure out yours

Nidra: *nods*

Amber: You should lie down. Doesn't seem like you didn't get too much sleep.

Nidra: *plops over*

Amber: *lies down on top of Nidra* I could sleep a little longer, too. More cuddles for Amber~

Nidra: *chuckles* Try not to dream so loud this time. It's distracting.

Amber: Hah, right.

Nidra: You should keep those fantasy dreams about Claire to yourself.

Amber: *internal screaming*

Trying to figure out exactly how I want Nidra's powers to work. She's not able to interact with dreams like Luna is, but is able to go into them and see them and even sense them when they're happening. But in doing so, she feels very strongly what the other pony is feeling whether it be sadness, fear or joy. In other words she's put in a position of empathy. From the inside, she's able to soothe whoever she's helping resulting in a dream rather than a nightmare. In the case of someone who's just having a hard time sleeping, she's able to just cast a simple sleeping spell.

She doesn't like going into dreams because she feels invasive and also doesn't like feeling feels.
