Fletcher

While I'm uploading characters that i was gonna make canon but never did, thought I'd go ahead and upload this guy. His name is Fletcher. He was just gonna be a side character kinda like Hot Head, Amber and Lucky Star. Not a next gen character but a part of that universe. 

His story is that he originally made arrows (or was a fletcher) but then he decided to try and join the guard since he wanted to be a protector. He's an expert at archery and arrows.  As of now, he's not in the guard. Just a guard in training.  He's disciplined, serious, strong, dedicated and determined.

Now you're prolly thinking, "hey, he sounds like Starburst".  Well, that was the plan. He was originally gonna be Starburst's love interest. Not so much a love interest actually haha. It was more of a "Starburst sees him as the ideal guy since he's just like her and is a future guard and is super awesome and is super hot and she'd be a little fangirl around him since he's so cool but he never notices because he's too focused to" sort of thing.

General Bio: 

Fletcher is a very focused and driven young stallion. He grew up in a VERY small town surrounded by nature and forests but he and his family (parents and two younger siblings) moved to Canterlot when he was around 13.  He didn't like it in Canterlot much since he grew up around wilderness and very open spaces.  He was originally a fletcher (lol), crafting bows and arrows with his family who specialized in making weapons.  He loved doing this with his family, but he felt like he could do more.  He decided to train to be a guard after his family's home in was saved by a blue and gold maned unicorn guard (it was being robbed).  He was still quite young during this time and  in order to train for the guard, he'd secretly go right outside Canterlot in an open field and practice fighting with the weapons he and his parents made.  He found that archery was his strong point and eventually, officially, began training with the guard when he was the appropriate age. He proved to be an incredible trainee.  He was focused, determined and very skilled at what he was doing. He quickly became a role model to many.  Fletcher is very daring and respectful.  He is incredibly hard on himself and becomes overly angry when he messes up.  That seems to be his only weakness. He gets discouraged by his failures easily and won't try again unless he's 110% sure that he can succeed.  Though Fletcher seems like quite the charmer (which just comes from him being respectful), he’s actually socially awkward and a bit isolated.  He doesn’t understand certain social cues being that he grew up in an isolated town and chose to be alone most of the time.

Relationships:

Fletcher's family's home was saved by a blue and gold maned unicorn guard.  That guard instantly became his hero.  Little did he know that that unicorn was, Prince Valiant Heart, who was no longer a unicorn, but an alicorn. Valiant recognized Fletcher and was impressed by Fletcher’s skills and knowledge of weapons when watching him train. The two of them became friends and Val also helped train him outside of normal training sessions whenever he was in Canterlot.

Fletcher had run into Starburst on several occasions before being formally introduced to her by Valiant (she was very happy to find out that he was friends with her cousin).  They ended up having a couple training sessions together. Fletcher was very astonished by Starburst’s skills being guilty of judging her by her appearance. The two of them became closer to one another and admired each other equally. They, like Dove and Anthea, have a small rivalry due to similar goals. Starburst does in fact have a bit of a crush on Fletcher which mostly comes from him being such a respectful stallion as well was how friggin hot he is. He has eyes that only Prism’s could rival (can you tell she has a weakness for green eyes?).  Since he doesn’t understand females at all, he doesn’t notice that she likes him.

Starburst invited Fletcher to Ponyville to train with her and Del on the farm once which is when he ended up meeting the rest of her friends.  Fletcher and Del became great friends very quickly, he found Candy very amusing, he never really understood Anthea and all her jokes and he got off on the wrong hoof with Claire and Turquoise. They startled him since he thought they were actually dragons (easy mistake). Claire got a little angry with him but after Turquoise explained what they were, Fletcher understood and apologized. He even complimented Claire on her beauty which changed her views on him in an instant.  He and Prism got along as well.  Prism ended up culturing him a bit and teaching him about women. Starburst didn’t like the idea since she didn’t want Prism to corrupt him.
